Descrição
Application
Sodium taurocholate hydrate was used as an emulsifier in in situ preparation of digestive enzymes.[4]
Biochem/physiol Actions
Taurocholic acid is the main end product of cholesterol catabolism. During enterohepatic circulation, bile taurocholic acid is converted by the microorganisms to taurodeoxycholic acid and deoxycholic acid.[3] These are reabsorbed by the liver via a carrier-mediated process and converted by liver enzymes to taurocholic acid.[3][1]
Preparation Note
Sodium taurocholate hydrate yields a clear, colorless solution in water at 50 mg/ml.
Other Notes
For the solubilization of unconjugated bilirubin
