Aplicação
The acid selectively blocks dye components from staining the tissue by either binding to it[1] or by acting as a mordant.[2] It may be used a recyclable superacid catalyst for isomerization reaction of cycloalkanes. It may simply be used as an acid catalyst for the following reactions:
-
Prins cyclization reaction
-
dehydration of alcohols
-
hydration of olefins.3
Phosphotungstic acid based membranes may be used for fuel cell applications.[3]
